NCUL 106 - ICE CARVING I

An introductory course on ice block carving and sculptures. Emphases on safety, tool identification, chisel handling and rotary tools and grinders. Introduction to the multiple steps of completing a carving while working with half and full blocks to produce symmetrical sculptures. The 6-week session, hands-on course will cover introductory level carvings that will be displayed throughout the LCCC campus. All equipment for this course are supplied.

NCUL 107 - ICE CARVING II

This course continues the skill sets from level I ice carving as it advances into full block sculptures. Three-dimensional template designs are explored. An introduction to using plotter and graphic designs are discussed as well as the craft of artistic free style template drawings. Individuals will experience hands on carving techniques as they produce a themed ice sculpture over the 6-week session. All equipment for this course are supplied.
