Excel Formulas and Functions Learn how to set up formulas and functions. Examine the structure of a formula the operators, order of precedence, and cell references. Work with various cell references including relative, mixed and absolute. Create 3D formulas within a workbook and between more than one workbook. Then work with Functions including Aggregate functions'SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, and COUNT; Logical functions'IF, AND, OR, SUMIF, COUNTIF, AVERAGEIF, SUMIFS; Text Functions'UPPER, PROPER, LEFT, LEN, RIGHT, SUBSTITUTE; Date and Time Functions'TODAY, NOW, NETWORKDAY, MONTH, DAY, DATEDIF; Financial Functions'Payment, Net Present Value, Depreciation; and Lookup Functions'VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX. Create a Nested IF function. Learn how to use Named Ranges in formulas. Learn about error messages and how to avoid them. Learn about audit features. Handouts will be provided. NCIS 150 - Excel Basic

Course will familiarize students with spreadsheet terminology and the fundamental concepts of the current version of Microsoft Excel, including identifying Excel window components, navigating worksheets, and downloading templates. In addition, learn the basics of entering and editing text, values, and formulas, and how to save workbooks in the native Excel format, as well as in other formats. Learn how to move and copy data and formulas, how to determine absolute and relative references, and how to work with ranges, rows, and columns. Also, learn how to use simple functions, and how to easily apply formatting techniques to worksheet data. Create and modify charts, and work with graphics. Review workbooks for spelling errors, modify page setup, and print worksheets. Textbook required: Current version of Microsoft Office Excel: Basic. NCIS 151 - Excel Intermediate

Learn how to work with large worksheets in the current version of Microsoft Excel, and use multiple worksheets and workbooks efficiently. Get introduced to more advanced formatting techniques, such as applying special number formats, using workbook styles and themes, adding backgrounds, and mimicking watermarks. In addition, learn how to create outlines and subtotals, and how to create and apply cell names. Learn how to sort and filter data, and create and format tables. Learn how to save workbooks as Web pages, how to insert and edit hyperlinks, and how to share workbooks via email. Learn how to audit worksheets for errors, how to protect worksheets, how to share and merge workbooks, and track changes in a workbook. Customize the Excel environment, and create and modify custom templates. NCIS 153 - Excel Pivot Tables

Learn how to effectively summarize data using PivotTables and PivotCharts. This class starts with strategies for creating, modifying and formatting PivotTables. Then learn how to summarize using other functions including AVERAGE, SUM, Percent of Total and Running Totals. Sort and filter the information in the PivotTables both with the filter arrow and with Slicers. Use transactional data to group dates by months, quarters and/or years. Create a reverse PivotTable. Create PivotCharts. Handouts will be provided.
